A native of the Bronx, N. Y., Solomon Rothman began
sculpting as a young repertory actor in Manhattan.
When on stage, he was "inspired by the shapes of the actors, like dancers breaking up space as they moved, forming designs in the air around us. I felt on fire to give my feelings a dimensional life through sculpture."

Mr. Rothman studied the Masters through years of disciplined experiment and practice at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, as well as Art Students League and Pratt Institute.  His work has been exhibited widely throughout the Northeast, most notably in New York City at the National Arts Club, Madison Square Garden, Salmagundi: The Center For American Art and New York Art Directors Club; in New Jersey at the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton; and a one-man show at the Spencer B. Newman Gallery of the Bergen Community Museum, Paramus.

Mr. Rothman's work spans a wide range of deeply-felt dimensional sculpture, including "More Than Flesh And Blood Can Bear," the work shown on the title screen, as well as the sculptures shown in the fine art posters for sale on this site.
